Rays Plant Hire started with a single digger, a rusty old van, and a big dream.Founded in 2008 by Ray Le Marquand, a born-and-bred Jerseyman with a background in construction, the business began when Ray noticed a common problem across the island — tradespeople and DIYers struggling to get their hands on reliable, well-maintained equipment when and where they needed it.
Ray started small, hiring out tools from his own garage in St. Peter, delivering gear himself in between jobs. Word spread fast. People trusted him — not just because his equipment worked, but because he showed up, kept things simple, and genuinely cared about helping folks get the job done right.
